Brown-Sugar Cinnamon Syrup
A cinnamon stick gently flavors a small batch of brown-sugar syrup. It is intended for a few homemade drinks, not a large bottle kept on the counter. Start with a modest amount in a latte and adjust the finished drink rather than assuming every coffee needs the same sweetness.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS
Before your
next pour.
Brown sugar varies in moisture and flavor. Use the same product when you want a more consistent repeat batch.
A cinnamon stick is easier to remove than ground cinnamon. Replacing it with powder will change the texture and is not part of the measured version.
Keep at 4°C/40°F or below and use within 3 days under our conservative editorial planning policy, not a tested syrup-specific shelf life. Do not can it or treat the recipe as shelf-stable.
A little more
to know.
Can I leave the cinnamon stick in the bottle?
Remove it as directed for a more controlled starting recipe. Leaving it in changes the infusion and does not establish a longer storage life.
Can I use this in a hot drink?
It can be stirred into a freshly prepared hot drink to taste. Follow the serving and equipment directions for that drink; the syrup quantity remains a personal adjustment.
